HTC Desire help.

Postby TheHobgob » Thu Jul 01, 2010 3:12 pm

Just setting up my Desire and a quick question has arisen, ive synced my sim contacts to my phone and also got my FB contacts however this is create a messy list of duplicates so I have gone to menu and set only phone contacts to show. I am then manually adding FB info onto contacts of my choosing.

So when I go to menu, people I have the list I want.

However now when I go to call or message and go to my contacts I get four of the same Aarons, one sim, one phone, one FB and one mystery. How can I get it to only show phone contacts?

Oh, I also meant to ask if anyone had and program recommendations.

I want a decent file browser that will separate music, video and photo and allow me to open/close/delete files.

I also want a good music player app as I'm not to keen on the default, is there something similar to a classic iPod interface?

Thanks!

P.S. I hope the battery life gets better, I've only been using it for two hours and its half way down, guess its because it was the first charge. Should I completely drain it before recharging?

I'd recommend Astro File Manager.

As for contacts, there is a way to consolidate contacts, but I can't remember how.

Thanks Linux_User.

Ok, got Astro File Manager, seems ok will need to check it when I pop my 8gb card with some more files on.

The only way I can see contacts work properly is by using the people app for everything, so instead of pressing call or message go to the person in app and text/call that why. By placing the app on the home screen, this is fine.

Any ideas for Media player?

Sorry, not a clue for a media player - I was quite happy with the default.

In my preperation to switch from WM to Android I exported my contracts to a csv file, then imported them into Gmail, it gave me an option to merge duplicates (I had a lot with just 1 number for home/work/mobile and it merged them to 1 contact)

Maybe doing that would be easier for you as AFAIK the contacts are synced between google servers/phone
