We need a DAB radio for the kitchen, cheaper the better. I only ask that it has stereo sound, though it's not essential. Suggestions on a postcard.

Don't buy anything with Goodmans on it.
Otherwise, almost anything is good enough these days. The technology has matured sufficiently from when we got our first DAB receiver a decade ago.
A remote control might be a useful addition.

ClickyI see no point in stereo when the speakers are 3" apart & the unit will be on a counter top to one side anyway (usual kitchen scenario)

We have a Roberts DAB in the kitchen. Word of caution - I don't know if it's the processing that Radio 4 uses, but it's incredibly bass heavy, far more so than the FM transmission. Can make some of the shows trickier to listen to than others. Oddly, the only music station I listen occasionally, Xfm, doesn't suffer from it in the same way.

Radio 4 has always had very pronounced LF when compared with other stations. It's probably just more obvious with the clearer reception.

Well I wish they'd stop it. It's probably been tuned to sound terrific on whatever the Director General's got at home.

It's the Archers that always shocks me! I went to BBC Wales a couple times in Cardiff and saw one of the studios for such a drama. The sound effects are total genius and deserve a full spectrum signal
