How do all, looking for a bit of advice please. ![]() Now, the plan, around Christmas is to get a hold of a PS3. I'm contemplating a 32" TV to go with it so it'll double up as a blu ray player via HDMI. Now, is there anything I should be looking for in a new TV? I haven't bought one since I bought this goliath of a CRT. I have a PVR, only a SCART connection though, but that will suffice for recording for now and I'll no doubt just be using the TV speakers although I may move the 5.1 downstairs if I tinker with my PCs sound. Is this the sort of thing I should be looking at clicky or are there some glaring problems in the specs that I should avoid/look out for? Cheers all, any advice appreciated by the TV numptee. ![]() |

Full 1080p support and 100Hz technology. I was quite impressed by the Samsung LE32B652T4WXXU at around £600. If you can afford it though, consider the Samsung UE32B6000WWXXU LED TV - knocks LCDs into a cocked hat in terms of picture quality - but then it is £800. |

How much? ![]() ![]() I'm sort of mid range value for money kind of a guy rather than a bells and whistles boy. Thanks for the pointers though. ![]() |

Value wise you can't beat the LG LH series at the moment. LH3000 - from Richer Sounds is £370 or £380 from Dixons and you can normal get a discount code for dixons. 1080P, 80K contrast, 50hz, no USB. LH4000 - from Amazon is £387. 1080P, 80K contrast, 100hz, USB (which can be turned into HD divx compatable from the service menu.) Hobgob. |

Thanks hobgob ![]() I've done a little reading, need to do more, but people seem to be suggesting that 1080p is only really noticeable on screens >32"... Is that just a fundamental basic, as in you wouldn't really notice the difference on a 15" screen between 720 and 1080 but, say, a 37" would show this difference up? |

37" and above need to be 1080p or the pixels are a bit to big spoiling the quality of the image. 32" 1080p TV's look great but if you're sitting too far away it defeats the point of the extra resolution |

I would opt for 1080p for anything 32inch and larger, I would say that 1080p is a fundamental basic for TV's now. If your ever even going to consider using a PC on the TV 1080p is a must. |

PS3, looks absolutely stunning in games (haven't rented a BR yet ![]() ![]() The sound out of it is amazing, and that's before you get to the TruSurround or whatever it's called. I haven't even properly played around with that yet! Haven't tried the USB port as I haven't had much need yet. You've certainly enough ports to cover you for most outcomes. Swivel stand's a useful feature. Freeview tuner's excellent and gets a far better signal than the boxes in the house. If there's anything else you wanna know, just ask. It seemed to be the whole package for a good price, so I went for it ![]() |

Cheers pcernie. ![]() Aye, I had a trawl over some other forums and there's a lot of praise for the sound. I did notice for a wedge more you can get a 100Hz version, not entirely sure what the benefits would be to be honest over the 50hz. Nice to hear the PS3 plays well, I'm planning to get a PS3 around Christmas time and fancy having a HD TV to hook it up to with the HDMI for the Bluray as well. |
