Currently looking for a unit to put in our conservatory. I already have speakers so would rather by a unit only. These are what I am looking at right now and these are top of my budget http://www.whathifi.com/Review/Denon-D-M37DAB/http://www.whathifi.com/Review/Onkyo-CS-525UKD/So we are looking around £200, DAB a must as is USB. Any opinions, thoughts of alternatives etc etc Thanks Rich

A friend has the previous model of that Onkyo and I'll vouch for it. Denon effectively made me redundant last year, so I wouldn't recommend them. Maybe I'm just bitter.....

The Onkyo's a very good choice, I'm sure it got a better review in Home Cinema Choice & T3.

Plus Denon are gay In all seriousness, my mate has the Onkyo paired with AE Aegis Evo speakers. The great thing about the Onkyo, is there's juice for some high sensitivity proper replacement speakers if you want. It's a genuinely involving sound for the money. Being a "proper hi-fi" person, I was pleasantly surprised.

I get through: CPC, T3, Stuff, HCC & Smartlife every month. I sometimes have to buy another mag or two if (like this month) I've read them all before the next run of releases.

Well I still havnt decided and now the Teac DRH300 has made the running due to its DVD capability. Also hampering the decision is the fact that I want a black unit but the Doris insists on silver

Have you had a chance to go and play with any of them?

The only one I have found in store nearby is the Denon, which I liked very much, hoping to go a little further afield this weekend to the nearest RicherSounds as they have all 3 in stock. Should make it easier to choose that way. I have got my test cd ready and waiting.

So made it to Richer Sounds yesterday and got the Denon, £20 off and 30m of speaker cable thrown in, so enough to rewire the surround system in my office as well. The sound really is superb, even linked up to some Acoustic Solutions floorstanders. Seriously loud without losing clarity and the DAB reception with the supplied aerial is perfect. Yet to try the USB input but all in all, so far, so good.
