TBH I'm still finding my feet in terms of shooting. I like taking pics of friends and family so was thinking of a prime lens (eg 35mm f/2) for this stuff. I also love car shows, architecture and landscape. So mostly stationary stuff. Wasn't sure about lens choice for this stuff. Not a fan of wildlife or sports. Not into macro eg insects but do like getting close up shots of flowers.
The idea with dSLR was to get into photography more and allow me to explore things more. I kept finding my Canon G12 wasn't up to doing stuff that I was reading about.
