If you're interested in backing up your images and you have an Amazon Prime account, you get unlimited photo storage included with your account. I'll just say that again for anyone that glanced past it - unlimited online photo storage with Amazon Prime.
I uploaded about 500GB of RAW images at the weekend, and aside from it taking a bit of time to get all those images uploaded, it does exactly what it says on the tin.
Now this is only image storage, if you've any videos included amongst your images, you'll need to exclude them, otherwise you only get 5GB of free storage for anything other than your images.
Happy backuping.

Wow. Didn't know this.
I've got Amazon Prime mainly because SWMBO and her sister wanted to watch a film when they were meeting up. Haven't bothered to cancel it because of the benefit of next day delivery. Plus Jack Ryan was entertaining.
I was contemplating about what to do about my photos. I probably don't take as many as others but I still have a huge collection of RAW files and I was contemplating about back ups. Cloud is good for "off site". Just need to create an on-site back up.

Exactly. I'm trying to streamline my backup process, and using Amazon in this way helps me do that. Now I just need to sort out my local backup system. I think I need a couple more hard drives and that should be that. Mark

Trying to find the T&C's for the Prime Photos is fun (haven't got to them yet) but it looks like Amazon will do some sort of image scanning/indexing of anything you upload (to power thing like face recognition). Just wondering if by uploading you give them any rights to use the images stored in the service. <tinfoil hat>

Amazon Photos Terms of UseFrom the terms : You can disable facial recognition by doing the following on the website (I don't have the app installed on this computer so can only provide website instructions) - login to your Amazon account and go to Amazon Drive from the 'Accounts & Lists' drop-down menu - click the down arrow by your name (top right) and select 'Account Settings'. From there you can toggle 'people and places' and 'family vault' settings as you desire. Mark
