Nikon D3100 DSLR

It would appear Nikon have just announced a shiny new DSLR - the D3100

For right now it looks like it sits above the D3000 and, in price terms at least, the D5000.

It doesn't totally eclipse the D3000 but you get some great features for a VDSLR at an incredibly competitive price.
It also has a first for any HD-DSLR in that it has auto focus whilst shooting 1080p. Not only that, but it can utilise it's face recognition system at the same time.
I can see that technology filtering down to the happy-snappers in time.
It's a lot of camera for £500.

I wonder if the autofocus for movies is a software or hardware thing. If software then please give me a firmware update for the D90 that also includes an intervalometer. :)

My mate just got his D3100.
Once the battery's charged and he's something worthwhile to show I'll post again.
