DP Hunter Richards bought a RED camera, used it for one job, wasn't happy with the "sterile" image it produced or the hassles in post so he sold it and bought a Super 16mm A-Minima for the same price. This is HD footage from his first camera test. Telecined to HD ProRes 422 HQ, direct-to-drive by colorist Andy Barr at Cinelcious.

Bit of a sidestep for the photography board, but relevant, I thought.
For all the pros of digital, I love the latitude of analogue.

Right, so we're watching footage from the 16mm camera there. right?
So what do we have to compare it to? Where's the stuff from the RED that the guy was so dissatisfied with?
One persons sterile is another persons reality.
I'm not getting in to a digital vs. film debate - yet.
