I'm dismayed at this (not that I've ever been to Kuwait - nor would I ever contemplate going while this ban is in operation), but I don't see how this is enforceable.
Given that compact cameras and camera phones are still allowed, what's the justification for discriminating DSLR - and I'm guessing film SLR cameras are also banned - cameras?
How are the Kuwaiti authorities going to distinguish between a DSLR and a micro four-thirds camera, for example? *shrug*
To quote a Kinks song It's a mixed up muddled up shook up world.

Samsung NX10. NOT an SLR. It's a mirrorless compact system camera in a similar vein to the Lumix G1/G10/G2 (although it has an APS-C sized sensor). What do they do about this one then?

What about bridge cameras?

What about high end compacts like the Nikon P7000?

How are any of those allowed whilst a DSLR is not? I'm stunned by their stupidity.

They would have done a better job just banning Canon. :P

This just takes the phrase 'epic fail' to new levels of failure.

Hooray. It was a hoax story.
Sanity - well, a semblance of it - has returned to the world.
