The hinge on my a450 seems rather loose on one side and a bit loose on the other, it rattles about when the flash is closed but the sprins keep it taut when it is open.
I can see a screw that could possibly be tightened, is it worth taking it to try and get a warranty repair (it's 10 months old and I bought it new) or is it worth just giving the screw a little turn and see where it gets me?
The flash operates fine, I'm just not keen on leaving it loose in case it ends up actually falling off

If it's within warranty take it to them and get them to do it. It's what I'd do if it was mine.

Fair enough, just aware it could be away for repair for a while

Yep, but it'll also be fixed. If tinkering with the screw won't be noticed then give it a go first.

The screw is plainly visible, but it's tight enough already, and the hinge is still loose
Oh well, at least I have the guarantee and it's not a part that gets a lot of wear and tear

Got it back today, Sony says they couldn't reproduce the fault
Tempted to live with it untill nearer the end of the warranty and go for another return then, might try and get some watch/glasses screwdrivers in the mean time to see if it's a bit loose on one side
