The title says it all, but it helps if you know who I am- My user name is "Enthusiastic but useless". Perhaps that's a little unfair on myself, but "I am a bloody brilliant photographer" would be asking for trouble. All of the pictures uploaded so far were taken with my EOS300D and most were shot in JPEG originally. I have only just started using RAW but I have uploaded three shots so far that were created from RAW files- The cormorant, the space shuttle engine and the flower at Animal Kingdom. I hope to get a few more of my better shots up to reach this months limit and then I'll start with pics from my new EOS40D.

Thanks, both. I have added you, Heather but I don't know what your user name is, Mark. (I did try the obvious one)
I am not too familiar with any of these networking sites but I would have thought that a message would have arrived to say that I had been added by someone unless you can choose to add people anonymously just to keep an eye on their photographs.

Ta. I've just found and joined the X404 group so I know that you are all there. I don't know that I'll add much there, specifically. I find it a little surprising that I can join without being invited or confirmed by whoever created the group. I had avoided Flickr thinking that it was another Facebook/Myspace kind of thing and I am NOT going down that road.

It depends how the group was setup. You can have groups that anyone can join, groups that are invite only and you can even have groups that are so private that they don't appear in search results. It's entirely at the discretion of the group administrator/s. Mark

Ah. OK.
I am new to all this. I'll get around to viewing all your pics when I get a moment. I am supposed to be cleaning the kitchen now and X404 is normally all the distraction I need.

Mmm, Nick. That's a tricky one. Thanks John, I am beginning to feel loved.

I could change it to invite only, but until we get random people joining I can't see much point. It makes it easier this way. It could even be a way to get new blood into the forums, who knows.
