That is an incredible picture, but it has qualities that make me want to shout “Photoshop”!

Its now suggested the animal was tame and the entry could be withdrawn

I heard that too. I hope it's not true - it would spoil one of my favourite photo competitions.

ClickySeems too good to be true to me too. Wolves are pack animals with an acute sense of smell - they'd be onto him in their numbers or they'd be staying the hell away I'm sure. Mind you, I'm no wolf expert.

The winner of the Wildlife Photographer of the Year award has been disqualified after judges ruled that the featured wolf was probably a "model". http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/sci/tech/8470962.stm

He wasn't stood there taking the picture, was he? Wasn't it done with a remote trip (allegedly)? Genuine question.

He said he had trip beams and triggers set up. Although that could also be a lie? One thing to be said though, whether it was a cheated shot with a tame wolf or not, it's still a cracking photo.

As I said in another thread, that's the saddest thing about it. The photo's been tarnished, in effect.

It was just entered into the wrong competition; it was meant for the Tamelife Photographer of the Year were it would be a good picture again.

I know. But people who look at that now think of how it's not as impressive as it was made out to be, and think of the negatives.
