Do you have insurance cover for you camera and additional gear? If you have got specialist camera insurance who do you recommend? |

My camera is listed separately on my household insurance policy. It has world-wide cover for loss or breakage. All my lenses so far fall under the standard policy - no extra listing needed and they all have the same level of cover as the camera. Mark |

I'm going to be looking into this shortly, as this digital malarky is much more expensive to replace than my 35mm kit. |

My house contents insurance covers camera gear up to a certain limit (as does my car insurance, actually). Since my camera gear is not top-flight stuff, it hasn't breached the limit yet. Once I get into the four-figure body and same for the lens territory, I shall look at insurance to cover it separately - especially for breakage. |

And so the time comes, for thread resurrection and insurance investigation. Anyone have any recommendations, then, for good camera gear insurance? I'd want it to cover the gear, as well as public liability, so a good pro-am insurance recommendation would be nice. Anyone? |

There's a magazine article I've got knocking around - I'll gladly precis the piece and stick it up, just not right now, as I'm off out in a moment, and I'm at work all weekend. But I'll try to get the key points down at some point.

AP recommend these people for travel insurance. http://www.eandl.co.uk/camera-insurance I've not used them myself so I cannot pass any first-hand comment. HTH |

On a tog forum, E&L got a B+, failing on customer service. The recommended insurer it seems is a mob called Aaduki http://www.aaduki.com/ Another I came across, which seemed reasonable and had a good range of cover, was Photoguard. They even do model specific insurance premiums, which I thought was interesting. http://www.photoguard.co.uk/ I'm still looking, but those two last are high on my list now. |

does that include water? I remember jessops do camera cover but if you drop it in water then the insurance is void |

There's also a £250 voluntary excess on it. I've yet to get a quote from any of the other companies mentioned in the thread so far. Mark |

I have accidental (and away from the home) cover with a single article limit upto £1500 and a total of £5000. That covers the camera (as I can recently testify!!). I also checked and I'm covered if I take the camera to Italy in September too. |
