'lo peeps,

I have a friend who wants a free photo editing program (for PC) which turn some parts of a photo black and white but leave others in colour. Any ideas?

Bring out the GIMP

Not so easy to use as others but fairly comprehensive and most certainly free.

If one is diving so close to the limits that +/- 1% will make a difference then the error has already been made.

Lightroom has a full featured 30 day trial. (8+)
Any semi-decent graphics app. should do what your mate wants. Just desaturate the areas they wants in B&W.

I dont know about a fre program. I've done it in versions of Photoshop. I desaturte the image and 'paint' the colour back through using an adjustment layer. Its really easy.
