Just been for a walk with my new iPhone to try out some photos. Thought I'd take it to the park to get some shots and I think they turned out very well. All apart from the daisies are straight out of the camera. I cropped the daisies as I couldn't see the screen properly as I didn't want to cast a shadow on them. Erm... CLICKY!

They look very very good! I'm impressed. If my 3G took photos like that I might actually use the camera!

I've just been browsing them again and I can't believe the contrast in the daisies picture!
The white is very white and the black is very black!
I struggle to get that from my compact.

Which page and what people? I can't see any people? Link? Edit to add: Unless you're talking about the pictures of the trees, in which case they are obviously innocent members of the public. Or the illuminati

Bottom of the first photo. They are on a cricket square but not playing.

If one is diving so close to the limits that +/- 1% will make a difference then the error has already been made.

Contrast like that isn't always desirable - it means you lose detail in the extremes (the petals and the bg in this case). But not wanting to put a downer on things - they are very good quality shots and don't have those artefacts you get at 100% on other phone cameras. Have you tried printing any of them?

It is a fair comment though I wonder what would happen to the background if I'd metered on the petals? May have to go and experiment again
