Who actually buys large snacks in the cinema? They are grossly overpriced let alone full of calories.

I used to take a chicken curry, fries and a four pack to the cinema many years ago. Don't think I would get away with that now.

If one is diving so close to the limits that +/- 1% will make a difference then the error has already been made.

Big Handbags FTW.

I don't really care if Butterkissed and coke are evil, provided I can buy them at the supermarket before I go in. It's not like anyone lives off cinema food, and once or twice a year isn't going to kill you.

Yes but if you go every week it can be expensive. I used to have a bad habit of taking a spoon, pack of biscuits and a chocolate sauce and then buy a tub in the supermarket before going in. I would then break some biscuits on the ice cream and top off with chocolate sauce and then munch my way through the tub. A lot cheaper than the cinema options.

If the prices aren't deterring you, you aren't gonna worry about the calories involved

The FSA wanna look into the practice of loading over-priced cups with ice

That was my main reason. Simply too expensive on a regular basis.

Yes but ice has no calories compared to the high fructose corn syrup that is invariably used.

I buy them. I don't go to the cinema every day and life is too damn short to quibble about every little calorie.

I prefer salted popcorn.
Mind you, I do miss the butter that I used to be able to get, many years ago.
Mmm hot buttered popcorn...

If you go regularly, then of course you need to be careful. As said above, it isn't going to cause problems if it's the odd occasional outing.

When I was at uni, me and my mates would often head to town, go to MaccyD's, put the food in our bags and carry drinks in our hands. At no point did anyone say anything.

I do. A large sweet popcorn is about three times the size of their small one, but only about half as much again in cost. The wife and I share one large bag between us.

It's the scam not the calories I'm interested in ;)

On that basis I will agree. You pay for the drink not the free ice.
