That was my thought. He could show that as he is outside we know that he is not Jon Venables. The man actually looks like his younger self far more than the younger Venables. The police should clear up the fact that man named in the papers is not Jon Venables. Simples.

This is the kind of mess that can happen in this situation. If Venables is in prison, then this man is clearly not him. The Bulger case is so high profile that, yes, there will be the modern day equivalent of lynch mobs. I think he has every right to call for a public statement that he is not the man they are looking for, and to receive it. I can’t begin to imagine how his life has changed because of idiotic misunderstandings.
