I doubt that they will do well. Apple have the online games store sewn up.

Depends how they promote it I guess, if they mess it up with two brand names and presences like that...

Yes but how successful have they been in the past? Not very with other services. I do not expect them to do well. They are not known for selling games so will have to spend a lot to get their customers aware of it.

I'm not sure they've ever tried games before, and HMV's MP3 downloads seem to be doing OK. Certainly, almost entire floors of their shops are dedicated to boxed games these days, presumably because of the higher profit margins.

Orange, for instance, could promote the games through their mobile phone contracts if they had any sense.

I'm saying I wouldn't write them off just yet, not that I intend to game with them :lol:

Orange may be able to use their regular service to sell games but then since there are so many phones they would have a problem ensuring that customers, got the right version.

Don't the majority of phones run these sort of java-based games now? Mine's does and it's just a £26 wonder from Argos :)
