These people are still susceptible to moving if the opportunities lie elsewhere. Tax breaks are basically not great for the industry because they come to rely on them.

Well, I wouldn't be happy about the loss in that scenario, but if that became the business plan... fcuk 'em :)

In the article it mentioned Canada. It is similar to the banks saying that such and such country offers us such tax break. Pay us or we leave. If you give into them they only stay as long as the tax breaks exist.

Obviously as far as the government is concerned, there's too much money at risk now not to sweeten the deal - they may be right for once, the games industry is still growing in every way, and it's worth remembering that it's becoming the norm now for everyone from kids to grannies, where you and me pretty much got in at the ground floor.

The tax breaks need to be well crafted to avoid them just simply moving once the tax break expires.
