This is very impressive first because it's done on a smartphone and second because it was done in a few days. Check it out.

This music video is, apparently, the very first one shot entirely with an iPhone4.
Sadly, it wasn't edited on the handset.

Not too keen on that one, it looks like it was filmed on a phone, if you get my meaning.

Yeah, they had that on MacBreak Weekly this week. Brilliantly done. The quality seems a bit wobbly in places, but I don't know if that is artefacts from the iPhone camera or from the video compression on Vimeo, but in general, the quality is excellent.

I would be interesting to see one of the top end Androids using the same rig.

But Andy Inatko did a bunch of tests with the iPhone 4, 3GS, Droid X2, Evo and a Nikon compact camera. The iPhone 4 rated very highly. Its display made the pictures look excellent on the device, making him think that the images were better than the Nikon as well, until he got around to uploading them onto the PC.

He says, excellent quality, it is more like carrying around a compact camera that is also a telephone, for the first time. The Droids have a higher pixel count, but the iPhone produces better pictures. Especially in contrasty situations - put them side-by-side in a perfectly lit studio and you probably won't notice much difference, but take them out in the real world and the iPhone 4 is much better.

For example, pictures of trees taken in sunlight showed much more detail and less artefacts than the Droid, and almost comparable to the Nikon.

That said, it does have a couple of minor problems, the white balance is easily bamboozled in bright light and it will often ignore a highlight in an image, to concentrate on areas of high contrast - although this can be mitigated by touching the screen and forcing it to focus on the highlight.

He also said, that the camera is very fast for a 'phone. It doesn't have a series mode, but it is fast enough to capture images very quickly by constantly tapping the shutter button.
