I would like an end to clamping of all forms. If a car is parked illegally then ticket it. Not steal and then extort money. Though with the Tories in power no way will that happen. They were the ones that brought them in the first place.

You can't issue a Fixed Penalty Notice if the car is on private property, hence clamping was born.

Yes but why cant the police deal with it if asked by the land owner, or tenant? Sometimes people are just too fussy. Don't forget that clampers are on commission and will clamp an ambulance if on the land.

A lot of people are on performance related pay and shouldn't be.

If one is diving so close to the limits that +/- 1% will make a difference then the error has already been made.

One of the robotics guys got clamped up at the uni and when the porters next came around to see the car they found it's owner and a couple of other roboticists with an angle grinder taking the clamp off and many members of the department cheering them on :P

Clamping and towing is extortion. Anyone that thinks extortion is a valid means of employment should f*ck off and die, because they pollute the planet with their nasty little toxic lives.

Totally.

This is just more argument caused by [LIFTED] over private property. No need.

If they had been Jedi's this is what the light sabre would have dealt with in a trice. :P

I'd have been with the bloke if he'd just cut off the clamp.
Threatening someone is downright wrong though.
