Problems with this:
- 80% of women with STIs are asymptomatic - they don't realise they have it. For men, it's arond 50% but mainly because their urine stings.
- gonorrhoea is not tested and this is another big STI
- if a person is treated/being treated, they're meant to abstain from sex for one week. For some, this is too hard to manage!
- if a person is being treated, their partner should also be treated, which doesn't always happen. Partner too has to abstain for seven days.
