They make me PAY to enter Wales?!!!!

I notice there's no charge coming back into England.

There's not a toll gate in the world that could stop people trying to escape Wales at that speed.
The hedges around that area are strewn with cash from people throwing it out the window trying to escape

I've only ever done it with a chicken so far, but if required I wouldn't have any problems doing it with other animals at all.

I don't mind paying a toll for a large crossing, ie bridge or tunnel. But I flat out refuse to pay a road toll when I already pay a fortune in road tax and fuel duty that is supposed to pay for the roads.

They still make us pay to cross the Thames at Dartford, despite having covered the cost of the new bridge (20 years old next year).

Okay, bona fide locals can get free crossings, and they've let the rest of us plebs cross free between 10pm and 6am, but the point holds that it's now just a money-earner for the owners. You only need to see the length of tailbacks on a Friday and Sunday evenings along the M25 in both directions to realise that simply making the crossing free would ease traffic congestion in that part of Kent no end.

I tried the M6 Toll road once.

I did. I meant to get off for the M42 but missed it. Cost me about a fiver (cant remember) to go one junction in the wrong way, get off, drive back and try again.

Yes but didn't the Thames crossing get privatised some years ago, so now they are bound to abide by the contract, I wonder if they will ever cancel that toll?

Unlikely - it went up a while back. It’s now £1.50 for cars to cross.

Yes but if you have marked yourself out as rich by going on a toll road maybe that is appropriate? ;)
