To be honest most companies have become too big and international. End result is that they avoid masses of taxes and the average person is hit with the bill. Companies are based offshore so taxes are avoided by dodgy transfer payments. Then large houses here are owned by companies offshore so that when they want to sell it they just sell the company which is based offshore so avoid the 5% stamp duty on house sales. If companies were smaller it would not make as much sense to try and use offshore tax havens.
