Well there will be a lot of support for that from the middle classes. Boris Johnson might become a valid target for his staunch support of the banks.

Universities should reduce the numbers of students considerably, provide free education to as many as possible, based on merit, with preferences for those from lower incomes. That will reduce the overall costs considerably.
