Orange and T-Mobile look set to unveil a radically different way to purchase an iPad - by tying users into longer term contracts.

Currently, if users want to buy Apple's tablet and use it wherever they like, the only option is the iPad 3G, which involves a hefty payment to buy the device then more money per month to your favourite network for data.

That looks set to change as Orange and T-Mobile, now joined under the Everything Everywhere brand, is reported to be announcing a subsidised price plan.

How much, how much?
No UK pricing has been confirmed for the new iPad plan, although if compared to the iPhone 4, it seems likely you'll be able to pick one up for around £150-£200 on a £35-£30 per month, two-year deal - although the fact there won't be minutes or texts involved may alter that price slightly.

We're harassing Everything Everywhere for a comment at the moment, so the second this gets confirmed we'll let you know.

Sounds a bit like what I heard the Samsung Tab would be available for. It makes sense if you want the 3G versions of the tablets to subsidise them with data plans IMO. I could never see myself forking our £500 for a Samsung Tab AND paying data on top. £20 a month on the otherhand......

That is why I will probably get a wifi IPad rather than another contract for an iPad.
