I disagree. The term was used in France 20 years before it moved to Czechoslovakia.
Some people actually suggest it comes from writings by Edward Bellamy of the USA in 1888. His cousin Francis then used the straight arm salute to the flag, the same Francis who wrote the Pledge of Allegiance.
