Course he will, given he was apparently on a contract worth £1.7m a year. And given he was sacked in a rather... abrupt way he may well have a chance - his behaviour was undoubtedly idiotic and insulting but generally speaking people don't get summarily sacked for that; they get told off. Depends if what he has done could be construed as 'gross misconduct'.

I imagine something along the lines of 'bringing the company into disrepute' (chortles) would be the gross misconduct part.

Call me cynical but the the fact that Gray is suing News of the World as part of this phone hacking story might be the reason why these off-air recordings came to light in the first place. And who part-owns News of the World? Ah yes, a certain Mr Murdoch. I'm sure he doesn't take kindly to being sued by one of his own employees. Maybe he had a quiet word in someone's ear to dig up all that they could find on him. Of course, this doesn't excuse his behaviour - but he did make it easy for them.

Nah, it couldn't possibly be that!
