It will be a nice idea. I wonder if we end up get an app for every TV station?

I go to the iPlayer site on my phone and it plays fine. Watched Come Fly With Me in bed last week!

They specifically said they would not do an Android app just yet. By concentrating on the Flash player they reach the maximum number of users for the minimum investment, which is fair enough given most licence payers probably don't want to watch TV on their phone!

I wonder how much the iPlayer app for the iPhone will be? It obviously cost money to develop, and they'll probably require separate streams to be prepared for it. All very expensive...

But can you store it on your phone and watch it when you want?

Yes but you could use it to listen to the news or some other program.
