The corporation has not updated its detection technology to include tablet devices, mobile phones and computers.
Instead it continues to use the same tracking system which only detects television signals to discover which homes have TV sets that might be unlicensed.

As a TV license holder I am not really affected, but wouldn't reception on an iPad in some field be covered by the home TV license? Which most households have now.

Most students would not be covered for example, since if they live away from home they are considered a separate household. There must be a lot of students who watch TV on the Interwebs and don't have a licence of their own.
