At least it was a mistake.
Years ago Sheffield coucil deliberately built their main pool a fraction too short to be used for competitions.
Then when they wanted to host the world student games they had to go to the expence of knocking it down and building Ponds Forge instead. :roll:

If the pool is 50M long, it is Olympic Size, did they go back and increase the length of all of those 20 - 30 year old Olympic Pools, just to put the touch boards in? I doubt it...
