The people who look after royal protocol like to keep things well and truly rooted in the past. The fact that it’s going to take a lot of head scratching to allow ANY firstborn to become monarch regardless of sex hows that there is more of a problem than just sexual equality.

A little bit of background.

I find myself agreeing with Lord Archer on this issue.

Ah, you meant it that way. Clear.

Thanks for the links. Yes, it does come to something when I find myself agreeing with Archer. :D

All of these issues aren't as complicated as they make out, however, it is problematical because we don't have a constitution. The UK has been involved in helping bring about consititutions in other countries and yet does not have one itself. Damn, wish I could remember who it was, he was from a country where that happened and his comments were full of thanks for our help but he just hoped that we'd do the same in our own country.

He's right in what he says about foreigners loving the Royals, my GF's gran's are obsessed. Mind you in Finland it's quite common for them to stick glued to the TV if any Royal anywhere is getting married.
