Shouldn't that be Samsung or Cadbury's suing the other over the use of the Galaxy name. Though I suspect that Ford are keeping quiet.

Not really, no. Since it's a joke, the verb is irrelevant. The joke is the same if you say purchased, stole, broke, killed, "made a pie with", ate or any other possible action.

Disagree - the interpretation of the joke IMO varies partly on the context. If you nearly accidentally stole one of those, IMO that's a different interpretation to if you nearly accidentally bought one of those. IMO it's a subtle but clear difference.

Since it never happened, it's an irrelevant difference. Just choose whichever option you find most amusing. The entire point of the "accidentally meme" is that it leaves it to the readers' imagination.
