Mr Leslie’s private life had come under tabloid scrutiny after he was accused of being the man whom Ulrika Jonsson claimed in her autobiography to have been raped by.
A series of other women came forward to make allegations. But when he was charged with a single offence the case collapsed at trial.
Miss Titmuss stood by him and gave an exclusive interview to the News of the World afterwards.
She soon landed her first job in television and her fame was sealed a few months later when a sex tape of her and Leslie emerged on the internet.
She went on to pose topless on the front of the lads’ mag FHM and appeared in a string of reality television shows.
But 18 months ago she made a surprise move into heavyweight theatre taking on the role of Lady Macbeth in a production of the Scottish play in Suffolk.
