http://www.guardian.co.uk/media/2011/ju ... rats-bskybIt's hardly a shock, mind you, it's not surprising that the Lib Dems didn't have the backbone to stand up for themselves and turn the tables either

And that is why newspapers should be cut down to size. If our politicians are too scared to do things for the good of the country then they should not be in power.

They clearly overstepped the mark with this News of the World private eye 'followed Charles Clarke' http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-norfolk-14301674

Sure but why follow the Home Secretary? I could not stand him but even so this is beyond reason.

I see this as a case of reaping what you sow - Politicians have been advancing the case of big business since time immemorial, and now it's a self-fulfilling prophecy - keep doing it for fear the constituents of the FTSE 100 come and bite you in the arse. Politicians now live in fear of the media and large corporations, and they're the daft bastards who let it all happen in the first place.
Government and corporations are far too chummy, it needs to stop.

I do think that breaking up all large firms so that there is much more competition would be good.

They rely on big business to fund them. That is why we have had right wing governments for 30 years. I know Labour were supposed to be left wing but they had right wing policies for most of that time.
