I hope it goes all the way to the ECJ and Apple get slapped with costs and a bill for Samsung's lost revenue.

How much money has Apple set aside to advertise Samsung products in Europe?  All those people who didn't know what a Galaxy Tab 10.1 or a Galaxy SII was, now know that Apple think they are as good as an iPhone 4 and iPad, therefore everybody will want one. Way to go Apple!

Many of these people will also know about the Samsung phones from all the coverage in the news. It might impact many who simply just see what is in the shops. Also do not forget that much intellectual property law has been transplanted from the US. For many who want an iPhone already this will make no difference. I do think that while many things look similar the whole experience from the iPhone will exceed what is possible from the Galaxy because of the numbers of apps.

Out of interest, does anyone know if judges in the patent court or clerks in the patent office are restricted from share ownership in companies that applying for or defending against patent applications?

Have to say I'm loving the reviews of Samsung's latest offerings. I can't wait to see the OLED displays in real life. Just a couple of more days until the final hearing, when we discover if Apple own a patent on "rectangular devices"?
