Is there anything on 5 that would benefit from HD?

Having recently got a Freeview HD box, some things are incredible for me. Frozen Planet being the most obvious. That was great to watch in HD.

The Gadget Show girls? And even that's subjective... That fascinating Eddie Stobart show? ;)

I consider CSI: Miami to be a comedy show. All of the CSI's are to be fair but Miami is by far the worst.
I really wish my lab had some of the magical equipment they get in the CSI universe.

I think they should scrap all the +1 channels on Freeview (along with all the crap channels) and make everything that's left available in HD.
At the very least they should mad the HD version the standard channel number rather than the other way round.
eg ITV is channel 3, ITV in HD is something like channel 51. They should switch that etc.

People with HDTVs are much more likely to be able to find the HD channels and program them as favourites than those without. Best to leave it as it is.

Channel 5 HD already broadcasts on Sky HD. There's pretty much feck all that's actually high definition on there.

This strikes me as dumb stupidity on a grand scale.
The future is, like it or not, almost certainly HD everywhere.
To no bother going HD is like deciding that mono's fine and this stereo malarky isn't going to catch on.
Eejits.

You know, chromatographic equipment that can perform an analysis in about 2 seconds that really takes more like 30 minutes to over 24 hours for example.
One of my all time favourites was a magical machine that could dissolve everything but DNA out of sample without casing any damage to the DNA (from memory they analysed some sweat on a leaf).
