Windows 7 64-bit and Firefox and Flash fully upgraded, no problems with YouTube.

An outdated method of delivering content, primarily to your web browser.

Ah, I remember now. It was a Big Thing in the 1990s, I seem to recall.

My boss earlier in the week:
"These new iPads then. There's no Flash on them."
"Yes, that's right."
"Well this'll never do. Can you sort that out please?"

"Uhm..."

All he was wanting to do was watch the England match while he was between the end of the day and the parents evening at work. So essential, obviously.

I can imagine some people had that exact thing in mind as the exact reason for buying one. What's that saying? "Football isn't a matter of life and death - it's far more serious than that."

What did you do? Find a HTML5 live stream somewhere? Presumably just your job was at stake here, rather than your life.

Suggested that he find and use a classroom with a projector instead.

Yeah everyone's switching to Silverlight, which is worse. :x

I honestly can't recall the last time I loaded a website that required Silverlight.

Erm... no they're not.

Moonlight has been canned and this version of Silverlight is generally accepted as being the last.

I can name some, mostly ones that stream media though - Netflix and LoveFilm for example, have both moved away from Flash to Silverlight.
