Ofcom appear to have done something sensible. This makes me suspicious...

I try to buy 'digital' as little as possible. In general, you never really own it, it often sits on a drive of some description not backed up or even consumed, you're reliant on servers and the company not going out of business/killing your purchase etc...

Like you I buy as little 'digital' as possible and prefer the real product in my hand. My original CD's become my backup. Though this research could be justification to do absolutely nothing about piracy. If you clamp down on it then sales will fall rather than rise. People use any form of download as a way to find new music. If you are watching a tv download and hear some music you might then go out and buy it. It becomes the equivalent to the radio in the past.

I save as AAC but 256kb format. Though CD's are more practical than downloads.
