Just because you can't see the point of the iMac hardly qualifies it as a "problem looking for a solution". Plenty of people have problems with the kind of set-up you like to use - they prefer to use their computer to, you know, do stuff, rather than do stuff to their computer.

I see that Steve has gone for the after sales upgrade option, rather than struggle on with the OEM component. He obviously knows that you get stung using the BTO options.

Conceivably the "upgrade" was facilitated by his numerous contacts in China where "criminals" are recruited to assist with the program....
