He has a right to look over any legislation that might impact him. Is this any different from any company getting staff placements in relevant government departments? Just look at the numbers of accountants seconded to HMRC and the treasury.

Is he trying to influence policy through these placements or is he trying to ensure that they are following policy? If they are keeping track of whether government and business are abusing, for example, toxic waste disposal rules, then it is a good thing. If he is trying to slide new regulations in the back door, then that could be bad - although given most governments track records for implementing rational policy, it might still be a good thing...

He would be principally trying to get laws that would impact him or the duchy estates changed to minimise the impact. There could be other motives such as environmental. It is not a constitutional problem. Once he is king he will have all the access as monarch he needs. The Prime MInister is expected to update the monarch with a weekly audience to discuss anything that the government might be considering. Rather than veto a Bill at the Royal Assent stage they can get the government to tweak it before it comes for Assent. _________________Do concentrate, 007... "You are gifted.
