You could buy them wherever you liked when I was at school.

Christ, where can you buy a blazer for £15? My son's was nearer three times that.

Don't forget the shoes either, £45-£50 for a pair of Clarks is taking the piss.

IIRC we had to buy our secondary school clothing at clive marks, which was probably price fixed. Certainly the school badge and tie could only be bought from the school itself.

Our uniform was designed to be cheap. White shirt, grey v-neck, black trousers and shoes, green tie.

They seem to have added a blazer now. I think it used to be optional, but no one did.

My school uniform was impossible to get apart from a single store.

Our son's school jumpers aren't too bad. However if you want, you don't have to have one with the school logo on, you can use a plain cheap v neck from Asda etc instead.

[LIFTED] me are those prices cheap! My patents would have been over the moon with such cheap clothes! When I was at school in the early 80s, the blazers had to be bought from a local outfitters and cost around 50-60 quid back then , which would make then well over a hundred these days.

15 quid for a blazer these days is nothing.

You are also forgetting 30 years of inflation to be added to that £50 blazer.
