I like the idea of MS collecting the iPads and... blending them? Throwing them into a volcano?

They might be using them to see what makes the iPad so much better than the Surface. ;)

Longer term I want there to be a decent tablet from Microsoft so that there is decent competition out there. I do not see the android devices offering that yet. Price maybe but overall experience is still much better with iOS.

Microsoft did a similar thing with iPods a while back. It was their attempt to get their staff to use Zunes instead. They had an iPod amnesty bin.
