The Tirol region has been hit with heavy snow, bringing down trees due to the early snow catching them before they have shed their leaves.

Many places are impassable around Garmisch-Partenkirchen and 12,000 homes are without power. Police are advising people to stay at home as the roads are dangerous due to fallen and falling trees. The local schools have also been ordered to close for the day.

I've not yet found any usual English sources reporting this.
