Inbred driver mows down cyclist and then boasts about it on Twitter.
Is amazed to discover legal obligation to report her action in a more formal manner.

Perhaps police interview suites should include a mobile phone to facilitate faster confessions.

Anyone who calls it road tax is wrong to start with, it's at best car tax (but applies to bikes and not to some cars), but VED is a silly thing to call it

You know it used to be officially called the Road Fund Licence.

No longer, I admit, but the clue was in the name. Hence road tax.

I don't understand why people are treating this as new news. It was months ago and did the rounds then.

Has there been an update as I haven't seen anything new about it.

That was when she got arrested, more recently she has been mildly fined.

This kills me. It stopped being called the Road Fund Licence in the 1930s. Amazing how a name sticks, isn't it? It seems the Vehicle Excise Duty was introduced in 1889…

DVLA no longer refers to VED, simply calling it a Tax Disc on paperwork.

You know how I know it was called the Road Fund Licence? It used to say it on the application form from the post office, as recently as the 1990s. Maybe it wasn't the correct term, but no bugger told the PO it had changed for over 60 years?!

She's still not upset about hitting that cyclist. Only about the tweet. How can you purposefully hit someone with a several ton vehicle and laugh about it?

Should be banned from driving for life IMO.

Being allowed to drive on public roads is a privilege not a right. Anyone who hits a cyclist and boasts about it on social media is too stupid to be safely allowed behind the wheel of a motor vehicle.

I do support the idea of a lengthy ban for any sort of hit and run and automatic life ban if there is a fatality. It is not just cyclists that are hit. Pedestrians, motor cyclists are also hit. Though her sentence with the exception of a ban seems fair.
