Regulators at the Food and Drug Administration said they are revisiting the safety of chemicals such as triclosan in light of recent studies that suggest the substances can interfere with hormone levels and spur the growth of drug-resistant bacteria.

I do think that it has seriously boosted the growth of drug resistant bacteria. Even though antibacterial products are everywhere I avoid them like the plague. Apparently if we wash our hands for two verses of Happy Birthday with ordinary soap we do just as good a job as if we used an antibacterial soap, without the drawbacks of increasing resistance.

I think a little dirt is good for tghe average person. I dont use any Anti Bac products at home (even the work surface cleaner is not anti-bac) just ordinary soap and water

I agree, when I was a kid I was eating dirt snails (raw) and whatever else I could fit in my mouth. In fact I very rarely get ill, even as a child I barely had days off school with any illness apart from the usual virus. All my cleaning products are simple like soap, vinegar and bi carb.
