Seems like a misunderstanding with the companies trying their best for once.

If you do not want to sell alcohol or pork for example then you should not be working in a location that handles those items. It is the same with refusing the morning after pill on religious grounds. It really complicates things for employers who want a flexible staff, who can work where needed. Would she have been willing to stack alcohol? Maybe they should reinterview all staff, and ask if they are willing to do all the tasks? If you refuse then you will be terminated. If some employees want to refuse to sell some of the companies products no matter what their religion then they should be asked to leave.

Medically, I could refuse to refer for an abortion or refuse the morning after pill but I would have a duty to get the patient to see someone who has no qualms.

Yes but that is because it would be for medical reasons, not the same as religious reasons.

Catholicism and abortions don't really mix.

That sounds like a religious reason to me.

Hiding behind his doctors gown to deny medical treatment for religious reasons should not be tolerated. If there are genuine medical reasons then it will be supported by another doctor, but if they both object on religious reasons then they should both be up for disciplinary action.
