He is trying to sound relevant. If there is no outright winner he is hoping to have some influence but would they have enough power to be able to allow a coalition to run. I suspect the Liberals may lose a number of seats and UKIP might end up holding the balance of power.

He's right. Sadly our politics are so tribal and poisonous that the compromise despising lunatics will invariably seize the asylum. A minority Tory government would have been held hostage by its UKIP loving fringe. A Labour minority government would spit the petty class war venom that infests this forum.

But neither would ever get anything done, and such administrations invariably collapse in disarray. Our politics would become virtually Italian if some people had their way. Clegg is correct to point out that willingly accepting that as a solution to the problem of having to compromise on occasion is utterly brain dead.

i believe that the coalition has done well. its lasted 4 years and looks like to last to the next election. which is a first
they have raised tax allowance for working people and hopefully raise it again.

i would like to see them lower taxes across the board but really turn the screws on tax avoidance.

all in all i think they have done very well, given the circumstances ...

Waffle and Rogers agree on something, well more or less. Time to close up shop and start a new universe.
