http://www.theguardian.com/technology/2 ... everywhereI think if you're prone to forgetting that good old pen and paper are the safest method - almost anything electronic can be hacked in some way, which is ironic considering you're trying to stay secure online.

We need a better method of authentication. Using passwords is a terrible idea these days, though just what should replace them is not clear to me yet.

I'm looking forward to see how SQRL works in practice. It sounds very good so far and the math is sound.
As for the password thing, I use a few simpler passwords for sites that don't matter - some forums etc. but have strong passwords for those that have any personal information of payment methods.
I use a web based safe for most passwords, but not my bank accounts and I've just ordered a Yubikey Neo, which should make it even safer and works over NFC to unlock the password safe on my Smartphone or PC - without the USB key you can't release the password vault (it has a one time password, in case the key goes missing).

As above with big_D, I use easy to remember (but still hard to guess) passwords for things like forums. Any websites that require credit/debit card or bank [LIFTED] info will have stupidly difficult passwords and I use a password manager for. For actual bank accounts or anything important, I use stupidly difficult passwords that are almost stupidly difficult to remember (might take me more than one log in attempt).

Thankfully my bank is now 2 factor as I ahve a small card thingy that generates a code - this means that the log on is actually easier I ahve basically 1 password for sites that insist that I register but have no info that I worry about and then "proper" passwords for sites with Bank / card info etc. However I use a small paper notebook at home to store them so no chnace of hacking and if someone breaks in I doubt they will take it
