Not much use when you're with Vermin Media though, is it?

Exactly I why I don't have cable.
Just wish BT would update the green box down the road so we can get fibre.

I've had Virgin for years. It's had occasional outages but generally it's been as reliable as any ADSL provider I had beforehand. Mind you, I'm techy enough to diagnose any problems it's had myself. I've heard horrific stories about their customer support. But then, there are few ISPs that have anything other than awful technical support.

And it is faster than any fibre I've ever been offered, although given the 'faster than fibre' speed is also their most expensive product. Plus I got fibre speed from Virgin years before they bothered to upgrade my local exchange to offer fibre connections. I could probably drop to half my current speed on fibre and save myself a tenner a month, but I currently don't miss the tenner so...

Reliability isn't an issue, my ADSL had been rock solid at this address. My issue with cable companies in the past has been customer service, or the lack of it. Plusnet have always had good customer service in my experience.
